Case Study: Implantable Requirements |
|
Challenge |
A division of large, well known company that manufactures implantable devices was facing delays in the new product pipeline due to hiring constraints. One project would be delayed for several months awaiting the resources to develop of the requirements documentation. The company was unaccustomed to using consultants for requirements development work and thus had not previously considered this to be a viable option. |

|
Solution |
AlvaMed was able to demonstrate that the cost of outsourcing the requirements development work was equivalent to what the in-house cost would be and, more importantly, that preventing a two month delay in the project increased the NPV of the product by close to $1,000,000. AlvaMed then supplied a complete team of 6 engineers and a project manager who were able to quickly write a detailed set of product requirements. |

|
Results |
The project was not delayed, preventing the decrease in NPV while fully
satisfying the client with the quality of the requirements developed. |
